Kwara govt warns politicians against using branding on school donations

The Kwara State Government has criticized the use of political messages or images on educational materials donated to public schools, calling for an immediate stop to the practice.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, made this known in a statement, stressing that while the government values all support for public education, branding materials with political symbols is against state policy.

“While all support for public schools is welcome and appreciated, the government has a standing policy prohibiting political branding of any kind on such materials,” she said.

Hajia Kawu explained that since 2019, the state government has refrained from including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s image or any political symbols on educational materials. She said the governor believes such practices are inappropriate for children.

The government also urged public officials and private donors to follow this policy, thanking them for their ongoing efforts to support and improve public education in the state.
