Kwara gov receives 12,058 bags of grains from FG

The Kwara State government has confirmed the receipt of a new consignment comprising 12,058 bags of grains from the federal government, aimed at alleviating food shortages in the state.

In a statement released on Thursday, the state’s Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bola Olukoju, disclosed the breakdown of the received grains, which includes 7,042 bags of 50kg maize, 2,916 bags of 50kg millet, and 2,100 bags of 50kg sorghum. Additionally, the state received 8,700 bags of 25kg rice.

Olukoju further revealed that the distribution of the grains would be officially flagged off by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, in the state very soon. The distribution process will adhere to the template provided by the federal government.

“The state government has constantly supported the Kwara public to cope with the inconveniences that trailed the removal of fuel subsidy,” the Commissioner stated.
