The Kwankwasiyya Movement has rejected claims circulating online that its national leader and former Kano State governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, travelled overseas for medical treatment, describing the report as untrue.

Speculation had trailed Kwankwaso’s recent trip outside the country, with social media users suggesting that his departure was linked to health concerns.

Addressing questions surrounding the journey, the movement’s spokesperson, Captain Mansur Kurugu, clarified that the NNPP chieftain left Nigeria on Thursday for reasons unrelated to health.

“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso departs Nigeria for personal reasons. It is not for medical tourism or any health related reason,” he said.

In a separate reaction shared on Facebook, Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, also refuted the reports, attributing them to the actions of political opponents.

Hassan added that the NNPP national leader was seen earlier on Thursday morning at Singer Market in Kano, where he sympathised with traders affected by a recent fire incident that razed shops and destroyed goods valued at millions of naira.
