Nigerian singer, Korede Bello, has advised his fans to focus on living meaningful lives rather than merely pursuing long life.
The message was shared during his Wellness Wednesday series on Instagram.
The Godwin crooner emphasized that while many people desire longevity, the true essence of life lies in the quality of how it is lived.
He noted that it’s not the number of years one spends on earth that defines a life, but the impact made during those years.
Bello highlighted that history remembers individuals who lived short lives but created lasting legacies. He cited examples like Alexander the Great, who died young but left a profound mark on history, and Jesus Christ, whose influence continues across generations.
According to him, the human body is built to sustain life just long enough for individuals to make a positive contribution to the world. He encouraged his followers to view wellness not merely as a lifestyle goal, but as a necessary tool for fulfilling life’s purpose.
“It’s not enough to live long. What matters is you live well,” Bello said. “The cells in our bodies, the neurons in our brains, the organs — everything is keeping us alive long enough for us to do something good, to contribute to the ecosystem of life. Be well so that you can be alive and do that thing you’re here to do. Leave the room better than you met it. Happy Wellness Wednesday. Be well and be great.”
