The Kogi State Government has reiterated its resolve to intensify the fight against criminal elements across the state, assuring residents that sustained efforts are in place to restore peace and secure the release of abducted persons.
The assurance was given on Saturday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, who said security agencies were actively tracking the movements of criminals, adding that major operations were already ongoing to rescue victims held in captivity.
He stated that the government was fully aware of the pain and trauma being experienced by families of kidnapped victims and remained deeply concerned about the safety and welfare of those affected.
“We understand the trauma faced by the families of kidnapped victims. We are also very concerned about their well-being. The Governor has invested heavily in ensuring the state possesses the capacity to crush criminal elements,” Fanwo said.
The commissioner also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support, as well as the National Security Adviser, the Service Chiefs, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, the Inspector General of Police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for their continued assistance in strengthening security in Kogi State.
Fanwo added that the Governor was placing increased emphasis on preventive security strategies, stressing that the administration remains committed to ensuring the rescue of every Kogite currently in the custody of criminals.
