Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has administered the oath of office to newly appointed commissioners, urging them to fulfil their duties with unwavering sincerity as servant leaders devoid of bias or favouritism.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Government House in Lokoja, where seventeen commissioners were inducted into the state executive council.

Governor Ododo emphasized that the commissioners were chosen meticulously based on their competence and capacity to deliver effectively.

He asserted their obligation to excel in their respective roles, stressing that failure is not an option in the tasks that lie ahead.

“We are poised to embark on a new era of state development. You must be prepared to execute your responsibilities with integrity, free from partiality, as it is our joint responsibility to propel the state forward,” Governor Ododo remarked.

He underscored the significant foundation laid by the preceding administration, led by Governor Yahaya Bello, urging the new commissioners to build upon those accomplishments to elevate the state further.

Governor Ododo pledged to lead with honesty, transparency, and accountability, serving the people of Kogi selflessly to justify the mandate conferred upon them in the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Kogi State and stakeholders for their steadfast support during and after the election, the Governor urged unity for the sake of peaceful coexistence among the populace.

“Kogi State is endowed with immense potential, and we can only harness them through unity. This administration belongs to all of us, and I implore you to pray for its success. We cannot construct a house and demolish it; hence, I appeal for your genuine support to enable us to serve you to the best of our ability,” he emphasized.

Hon. Salami Ozigi Deedat, speaking on behalf of the newly appointed commissioners, extended appreciation to the Governor for entrusting them with positions in the current administration.

He pledged their loyalty, obedience, and transparency in all endeavors as members of the state executive council.
