Kogi ex-lawmakers endorse APC candidate for gov poll
A group of former lawmakers in Kogi State has endorsed Usman Ododo, the APC governorship candidate, for the upcoming election on November 11.
The group, led by Hassan Adakeke, made this announcement at a media briefing in Lokoja on Thursday.
Adakeke said they chose to back Ododo because he has the best qualifications in terms of experience, capacity, competence, and intelligence.
“Kogi is too central to Nigeria to be left in the hands of candidates who are out to disunite the state and truncate the widely acknowledged achievements of the current administration.
“We are calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission to immediately activate relevant sections of the Electoral Law against candidates fanning ethnic division and stoking atomic politics in the state”, said Adakeke.
He said the former lawmakers are committed to working hard across the state to ensure Ododo’s victory.
He asked all members to return to their constituencies and mobilize support for the APC candidate.
