Kogi declares public holiday for schools ahead of gov election

Kogi State government has declared a three-day holiday for all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions of learning in preparation for the upcoming gubernatorial election.

The decision was conveyed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones on Tuesday.

The statement directed that all educational institutions should be closed from Friday, November 10th, to Tuesday, November 14th. Normal academic activities will resume on Wednesday, November 15th.

The purpose of this holiday is to allow for preparations related to the gubernatorial election in the state.

The statement also conveyed the government’s well-wishes for a peaceful election and assured the public of the government’s commitment to providing a secure and conducive environment for the election process.
