Fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Olayemi Josiah Awosika, popularly known as Fido, has described renowned singer Kizz Daniel as one of the greatest artists to emerge from Nigeria, praising his influence on the genre both locally and globally.
Speaking in a recent interview, Fido, who recently teamed up with Kizz Daniel for the remix of his hit single ‘Joy’, expressed admiration for the ‘Buga’ crooner’s contributions to Afrobeats.
“Kizz Daniel is one of the greatest artists in Nigeria. He has made such an impact for us in the music industry and for Afrobeat across the world,” Fido said.
Explaining his decision to feature Kizz Daniel on the remix, Fido noted that the collaboration was a response to overwhelming fan demand and a desire to deliver something special to his audience.
“I felt he was the perfect match. Everybody has been asking when they were going to see me and Kizz do a song together. I was like, okay, I’m going to surprise my fans. I have to make sure that whatever the fans ask from me, I have to deliver for them. I give fans what they want and I like to make sure that they’re satisfied. I know then, that the rest is going to fall in place,” he said.
Fido’s recent momentum in the Afrobeats scene, bolstered by the high-profile collaboration, continues to position him as one of the promising voices redefining the sound and appeal of the genre.
