American reality TV star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian is getting closer to becoming a lawyer after taking an important legal exam.

On March 27, Kardashian sat for the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) in Los Angeles. This test, which focuses on ethics and professional conduct, is a necessary step for anyone who wants to practice law in California.

Despite her fame, Kardashian took the test like any other aspiring lawyer, with her bodyguard waiting outside the exam center, as guests were not allowed inside.

Kardashian began her legal journey in 2018, inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who was a well-known attorney. She decided to pursue law through an apprenticeship program, an option allowed in California instead of attending law school.

Her path has not been easy. In 2021, she passed the “baby bar” exam after failing it three times. She shared her struggles on social media, saying, “I failed this exam three times in two years, but I got back up each time and studied harder.”

Although she is not yet a lawyer, Kardashian has already made a name for herself in criminal justice reform. She has helped secure clemency for prisoners, including Alice Marie Johnson, and has worked on prison reform efforts.

Speaking at the TIME100 Summit in 2023, she expressed her commitment to the legal field, saying, “I would be just as happy being an attorney full time. The journey really opened up my eyes.”

Now, after taking the MPRE, Kardashian is one step closer to achieving her dream. If she passes, she will still need to take the California Bar Exam before officially becoming a lawyer.
