Kim Kardashian has defended her 12-year-old daughter, North West, after online critics slammed the young girl’s latest look.
North, the eldest child of Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West, appeared on their joint TikTok account wearing waist-length blue braids, temporary face tattoos, a fake nose ring, colored contacts, and grillz. She was seen hanging out with friends dressed in similar outfits in different colors.
The videos quickly drew mixed reactions, with some fans calling the look inappropriate for her age. In response, Kim commented through their shared TikTok account, calling the criticism unnecessary. “This is such a non-issue😭,” she wrote under a post shared by Daily Mail Australia.
Supporters also defended North. One user commented, “Guys this IS 12. I tried the same looks at 12 I just didn’t have social media and my parents weren’t famous so I just myob like be so for real leave her be.” Another added, “She’s basically playing dress up with her friends.”
This is not the first time North’s fashion choices have caused a stir. In August, she was photographed in Rome wearing a corset, mini skirt, and a dermal piercing on her finger, which drew backlash from fans questioning Kim’s parenting.
Kim, however, has often spoken about her daughter’s bold fashion sense. In an interview with Complex Style, she said, “She teaches me a lot. She has a really unique style. She puts me on to so many brands. It’s just really fun to see someone be so creative and know herself so much.”
Kim shares four children with Kanye West — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
