A 10-year-old boy, Tasi’u Abdullahi, has been murdered by kidnappers in the Rikkos community of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The boy was killed even after his family paid N150,000 as part of a ransom demand. His lifeless body was found in a sack near his family home on Friday, December 20, 2024.

The boy’s uncle, Aliyu Muhammad, shared details of the incident with journalists on Tuesday. According to him, Tasi’u was kidnapped on Monday, December 16, in front of their house after being lured by unidentified individuals.

“The abductors contacted us five days later, asking for N50,000 for feeding and a ransom of N1 million. After much negotiation, they agreed to take N300,000, but we could only pay N150,000 through a bank transfer as instructed,” Muhammad explained.

He added, “We were shocked to receive a call from a woman the next day, informing us that Tasi’u had been killed and his body dumped near our house. When we found him, it was clear he had been strangled, and there was blood coming from his nose and mouth.”

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing, and the police have launched an investigation.

The tragic death has left the family devastated. They have called on security agencies to ensure justice for the young boy.

“Our hope was to see Tasi’u return home safely, but now we are left with deep sorrow. We want the authorities to ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law,” Muhammad said.
