The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo has appointed new directors for five critical agencies.

The affected agencies include the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Nigeria Meteorological Agency, Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, and Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau.

The announcement was made through a statement from the Head of Press and Public Affairs, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi on Thursday.

This appointment comes in the wake of the recent dismissal of some directors from their positions.

The government’s decision to relieve the heads of these agencies was accompanied by an initiation of a probe into one of the agency heads.

The statement emphasized the immediacy of the appointments, stating, “All the newly appointed Directors are to get in touch with the Director, Human Resource Department of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development to collect their letters of appointment as the appointment is with immediate effect.”

Furthermore, the statement revealed a strategic move to address challenges within the sector.

It mentioned the creation of a new Directorate called the Cargo Services at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria.
