Nollywood producer Kemi Adetiba has confirmed that the third part of her blockbuster series, “King of Boys,” is in the works.
Adetiba, who directed the first two movies, made this announcement on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
In her post, Adetiba promised fans an exciting experience, sharing a picture of herself with the star of the film, Sola Sobowale, and popular musician Seun Kuti. She captioned the photo, “I just need y’all to know… That KOB 3 is gonna be a WIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLDDDDDDDD RIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!! #SayingALotWithoutSayingTooMuch #KOB3 #WhenThunderAndLightningMeetOnScreen.”
The original 2018 film, written, co-produced, and directed by Kemi Adetiba, follows Eniola Salami’s an ambitious crime lord and businesswoman played by Sola Sobowale.
After losing her children in the first movie, Salami returns from exile in the sequel, “King of Boys: The Return of the King,” released in 2021 as a seven-part Netflix series.
In this sequel, Eniola fights and wins a tough battle to become the governor of Lagos State, solidifying her political influence.
The movie was a box office hit, grossing ₦245 million overall and being listed among the top 10 movies of 2018.
The upcoming third part of the series is one of the most anticipated releases in 2023.
