The Katsina State Police Command has begun enforcing regulations on vehicle tinted glass permits and is urging motorists to comply in order to avoid unnecessary confrontations across the state.
In a statement issued Friday in Katsina, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, explained that the move is part of efforts to bolster public safety and security.
He advised vehicle owners to obtain their Tinted Glass Permits by applying through the official portal at www.possap.gov.ng, in line with provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
During a meeting with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Departments (HODs), the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, cautioned officers involved in the enforcement against any acts of extortion, incivility, harassment, or intimidation.
He stressed the need for professionalism throughout the exercise, warning that any officer found engaging in misconduct would face appropriate disciplinary action.
The Commissioner also appealed to the public to cooperate with officers during the enforcement and to report any unprofessional conduct to the command.
“We assure the public of our commitment to maintaining law and order while ensuring the safety and security of all citizens,” the statement concluded.
