Katsina State on Tuesday evening received another set of 148 returnees Almajiris from Gombe State.

The government has however indicated its intention to train some of the Almajiris in various skills that will make them more useful to the society.

The Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa who received the Almajiris on behalf of the state government, disclosed that they would be moved to their respective local government areas by Wednesday.

He said,

“The Almajiris were brought in eleven buses. Our medical team came and took the body temperature of each and every child. They appear to look healthy.

“We are planning by tomorrow(Wednesday) to send them to their respective local government areas through their heads of local government administration and the District heads for onward handing over to their respective parents.

“It’s important for the parents to understand that nobody is responsible for the education of their children than themselves.

“So let’s educate them both in Islamic and Western education under our good care, I assure you that they will do better.

“So I appeal to the parents to reconsider this kind of education and allow their children to stay at home and learn whatever they want to learn in terms of Islamic and Western education.”
