American rapper Kanye West has advised artistes in the United States to improve their business acumen by taking lessons from their counterparts in Nigeria, China, and India.
In a recent interview with DJ Akademics, the 47-year-old music mogul criticised American artistes for lacking financial independence and control over their careers.
He argued that many rely too heavily on managers, lawyers, and record labels, often failing to understand their contracts, finances, or business strategies.
West also voiced frustration over the influence of external investors in the US music industry, particularly pointing to what he described as the dominance of Jewish financiers and lawyers.
“Okay, go and ask them to run a whole record label without a Jewish person. I will take back what I had to say. Go and set up your whole TV network, make it run, no Jewish investor, let me see how that works,” he said.
He further stated, “Until motherf*ckers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish or like the tech Indian or some sh*t, everything I’m saying counts.”
West’s remarks come amid ongoing controversies surrounding his public statements and relationships.
He recently made headlines for attacking Jay-Z’s family, questioning the mental capacity of his colleague’s children.
Additionally, he released a long list of artistes, colleagues, and family members whom he accused of betrayal.
