Kano outlaws movies displaying phones snatching, drug addiction, kidnapping

The Kano Film Censorship Board says it has banned the sale of movies showing kidnappings, drug addiction and snatching of GSM phones in the State.
This was contained in a statement issued by Board Executive Secretary, Ismaila Naaba Afakallah, on Monday.
Afakallah disclosed that the prohibition becomes imperative following report that they are having negative effect on youths in the State.
He warned, “Henceforth, we will not allow films displaying Kidnappings, drug addiction and GSM phones snatching which has now taken toll on Kano residents”.
The board secretary explained that the measure was aimed at curtailing the menace and reducing the possibility of young people adopting the criminal acts.
“Not every young man has the tenacity of understanding fictitious films actions. Somebody might mistake it as a reality and may go ahead to practice it, therefore, we must act now before it is too late,” he added.
