Executive members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, have announced the removal and expulsion of the party’s state chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, less than two weeks after he was re-elected.
The decision was contained in a resolution endorsed by 27 ward executive members and adopted during the ward’s second executive meeting.
The meeting was presided over by the Ward Chairman, Shuaibu Hassan, with the Ward Secretary, Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa, also present.
According to the resolution, the ward executives accused Dungurawa of actions that allegedly undermined party cohesion, including creating divisions within the NNPP, escalating internal disputes, failing to remit party dues, and making abusive remarks against the Kano State Governor.
The executives maintained that the allegations against the chairman were serious and detrimental to the party’s image, unity, and overall development.
They explained that the action was taken in line with provisions of the party’s constitution, stressing that it was intended to promote discipline, unity, and internal stability within the NNPP.
The ward leadership further disclosed that copies of the resolution had been forwarded to the party’s local government, state, and national offices for necessary follow-up.
“The decision had been communicated to the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf”.
The executives said the expulsion was also meant to serve as a warning to party members who misuse their offices or act contrary to party rules and regulations.
They reaffirmed their loyalty to the NNPP’s national leadership under Senator Kwankwaso and pledged continued support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, while emphasizing their commitment to peace, unity, and the sustained growth of the party.
