The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, has resigned from his position.
In a letter addressed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kibiya stated that his resignation takes immediate effect, bringing to an end his service which commenced on June 29, 2023.
He explained that the decision followed “careful and thoughtful consideration.”
According to him, prevailing circumstances had continued to limit his ability to effectively discharge his responsibilities and had affected the smooth operation of the ministry.
Despite his exit, Kibiya expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the opportunity to serve in the state government, as well as for the trust and confidence reposed in him during his tenure.
“It has been an honour to contribute, in my capacity, to the humanitarian and social development objectives of the state,” he said.
The former commissioner also thanked his colleagues, partners, and members of the public for their support and cooperation while he was in office, and wished the Kano State Government success in its ongoing efforts to improve the welfare and well-being of the people.
