Governor Abba Yusuf has addressed the growing circulation of a slogan suggesting he would only serve a single term in office, offering his perspective on the matter.

Speaking in a video while addressing a group, the governor reacted to the Hausa phrase ‘Falle Daya’ (One term), which has been used by critics in reference to his tenure.

In his remarks, Yusuf suggested a political trajectory that includes remaining with the New Nigeria Peoples Party for his current term before aligning with the All Progressives Congress for a possible second term.

He said: “Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party. We will do the second term in the APC.

“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever.”

The governor’s comments come amid recent political developments involving his departure from the NNPP following a dispute with his former political ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Yusuf confirmed that his defection to the APC was driven by what he described as the best interests of Kano State residents. Before making the switch, he had stepped down from the NNPP, citing what he called escalating internal divisions and unresolved leadership conflicts within the party.
