Kano gov sets up committee to boost IGR

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has inaugurated a standing committee to implement the recommendations of the State Task Force on IGR, which he received on Monday.

The governor had established the task force in June to review the state’s Internally Generated Revenue and Tax Consultancy Services as part of his efforts to increase the state’s revenue base.

The standing committee, chaired by Prof. Ibrahim Magaji Barde, comprises representatives from various state agencies and departments involved in revenue collection and management.

According to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the committee members are: Abdulkadir Abdussalam (Accountant General), Sani Abdulkadir Dambo (Chairman KIRS), Habu Muhammad Fagge (Executive Chairman PensionBoard), Dr. Hamisu Sadi Ali (DG Dept Management Office), Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu) DG Bureau of Statistics, Aminu Shuaibu, (SSA Revenue), Ali Kankarofi, Dr. Abubakar Usman Muazu, Jamila M. Abdullahi, Zainab Abdulkadir, Ibrahim Bawa, and Dr. Aliyu Ismail Danmaraya as the secretary.

The governor charged the committee to work hard and ensure the effective implementation of the task force report in the state’s best interest.
