A Kano Magistrates’ Court sitting in Zungeru has rescinded the bail previously granted to members of a family accused of violently attacking their neighbour and mutilating her by severing her nose in Rijiyar Lemo, Dala Local Government Area of the state.

The attack reportedly arose from a dispute when the complainant, Rahama, visited the home of Hassana Usman to recover money owed to her.

Following the assault, Rahama was rushed to the Dala Orthopaedic Hospital, where she underwent reconstructive surgery due to the severity of her injuries.

Prosecutors’ concerns over the handling of the case prompted its transfer to the Zungeru Magistrate Court for further review.

Magistrate Huda Harun subsequently revoked the defendants’ bail and instructed court officials to assess the complainant’s current medical condition.

The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2025, for the continuation of proceedings.

The Magistrate further ordered that the accused be remanded in correctional custody until the next court session.
