A group of non-indigenous Christians in Kano has embarked on a pilgrimage to Shiloh, praying for the victory of Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna in the upcoming Supreme Court ruling on the state’s gubernatorial election.
Led by Seyi Olorunsola, a former counselor and APC stalwart, the group believes that prayer will play a crucial role in ensuring Gawuna’s success.
The pilgrimage to Shiloh, an annual gathering of Christians at Winners’ Chapel Canaan Land in Ota, Ogun State, signifies the group’s unwavering faith and determination.
Olorunsola in his statement said “In a display of unwavering faith and determination, a group of non-indigenous Christians embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to Shiloh, the annual gathering of Christians at Winners’ Chapel Canaan Land in Ota, Ogun State.
“The purpose of their pilgrimage is to offer fervent prayers for the success of Dr. Nasiru Gawuna in the forthcoming Supreme Court judgement concerning the Kano State Gubernatorial elections held on March 18, 2023.
“In times of uncertainty and challenges, we turn to our faith for strength and guidance. Dr. Nasiru Gawuna has been a dedicated public servant, and we believe that God’s favor will shine upon him in this crucial moment. Our delegation to Shiloh is an expression of our trust in divine intervention.”
The group’s pilgrimage comes against the backdrop of the ongoing legal battle surrounding the Kano State Gubernatorial elections held in March 2023.
Following the initial election, the APC filed a petition challenging the victory of the NNPP candidate, Engr. Abba Yusuf. The petition was successful at the tribunal, leading to the nullification of Yusuf’s victory.
The NNPP appealed the ruling at the Court of Appeal, but again faced an unfavorable outcome.
