United States Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris shared a relaxed moment on Tuesday by enjoying a beer during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

While chatting with Colbert, Harris opened a can of Miller High Life beer, responding to his playful invitation. The host suggested that voters often want a leader they could have a drink with, saying, “Elections, I think, are won on vibes… they just want somebody they can have a beer with.”

Colbert revealed that the show checked ahead to ensure it was okay to serve the Vice President a drink. Harris, with a smile, accepted the beer and shared that the last time she had a drink was at a baseball game with her husband, Doug Emhoff. After cracking the can open, she raised it and said, “Cheers.”

Colbert, referring to the beer’s origins, said, “It’s cold. From the beautiful city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin,” one of the key swing states in the upcoming U.S. election. Harris replied by quoting the beer’s tagline, “The champagne of beers.”

The appearance was part of a series of media engagements as Harris ramps up her campaign for the 2024 U.S. presidential election. She also appeared on *The View* and gave an interview to Howard Stern on SiriusXM.

Harris lightheartedly joked after taking a sip of her beer, especially when asked about Donald Trump’s refusal to accept his 2020 election defeat. “When you lost millions of jobs, you lost manufacturing, you lost automotive plants, you lost the election, what does that make you? A loser,” she said, adding with a laugh, “This is what happens when I drink beer.”
