Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, is preparing to launch 100 free Compressed Natural Gas buses for civil servants in the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Musa, shared this information in a statement on Thursday.

Musa explained that this initiative is part of the government’s commitment to improving the lives of workers and the less privileged in Kaduna State. He said, “This is aimed at alleviating the suffering of workers and enhancing their productivity.”

The new buses will help transport civil servants to and from their workplaces. To ensure the smooth operation of this transportation scheme, a Joint Management Committee will be formed, including representatives from labor unions like the NLC and TUC, along with the State Government.

In the same statement, it was also announced that Governor Sani has approved a new minimum wage of ₦72,000 for civil servants, effective November 2024. This wage increase is another step toward improving workers’ conditions.

Musa added, “The Kaduna State Government will continue to fashion and implement policies and measures to bring succour to the people. We are committed to transforming the lives of the less privileged. With the sustained support of our citizens, we shall make Kaduna State a Model for Social Welfare Interventions.”
