Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has given the green light for the release of N3.1 billion to cater to the gratuity payments for retirees and provide death benefits to the families of those deceased, as part of the Defined Benefit Scheme and the Contributory Pension Scheme.
This was announced by Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor on Wednesday.
The statement emphasized the positive impact of these disbursements, particularly in the context of the current economic challenges, and the forthcoming full list of beneficiaries will be released by the State Pension Bureau.
Shehu stated that Governor Sani remained committed to ensuring that upon retirement, workers who have served the State diligently have full access to what is rightfully theirs.
He noted, “The release of these funds will aid in ameliorating the ripple effects of current economic realities, especially for the elderly who have retired from active service.”
“The full list and details of beneficiaries will be released by the State Pension Bureau in the coming days.”
