Popular South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron has been found dead in her home in Seoul, police confirmed on Sunday.
The 24-year-old actress was discovered in her house by a friend, who immediately reported the incident to the police, according to Yonhap news agency.
A police official told AFP, “She was found dead, and there is no sign of foul play,” but did not provide further details.
Kim Sae-ron gained fame for her role in the 2010 movie *The Man from Nowhere*, where she played a kidnapped child rescued by a former special forces agent. Her performance earned her the Best New Actress award at the Korean Film Awards.
She was widely recognized for her acting talent and won several other film awards throughout her career.
Kim’s career faced a major setback in 2022 when she was involved in a drunk-driving accident. She was later fined 20 million won ($13,800) for the offense.
Following the incident, public opinion turned against her, making it difficult for her to secure new acting roles.
