UPDATE: Wife of CBN governor abducted by heavily armed kidnappers

Latest reports online inform that Mrs Margaret Emefiele , the wife of the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been abducted by heavily armed kidnappers on Thursday.

Sahara Reporters reports that a source close to Mr. Emefiele said that Mrs. Emefiele was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor Road.

It was said that the kidnappers have made contact with their victim’s husband and demanded a huge sum in ransom.

Mrs. Emefiele’s kidnap represents one of the most high-profile kidnap cases in 2016.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian police has said it is not aware of the abduction of Mrs. Emefiele, Daily Trust has reported.

According to the report, the Delta state police spokesperson, Superintendent Celestina Kalu, said the Command is not aware of the Kidnapping.
