Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has donated a whooping sum of N10 million for the establishment of Air Force Secondary School in the State.
This was made known in a post shared on the Facebook page of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The Governor, who will be relinquishing power in few months time made the donation on Saturday, while commissioning 12 units of 2-bedroom accommodation built by the NAF for senior non-commissioned officers of 81 Air Maritime Group (81 AMG), Benin City.
Oshiomhole also approved free of charge Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the land and other lands occupied by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the state.
The comrade Governor said the kind gesture is to appreciate and support the NAF for its efforts to contribute to education in the state.
He thanked the NAF leadership for putting up such edifice, noting that it is an indication of its commitment to the welfare of the personnel.
Speaking also at the event, Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar, who was in Benin City to assess the state of operational facilities and welfare of personnel in 81 AMG, disclosed that, the Unit is expected to become more active in the months ahead as the NAF is at the verge of acquiring new platforms that would be deployed to the unit.
