JUST IN: Zamfara abducted schoolgirls released
The 317 kidnapped schoolgirls of Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara have been freed.
It was learnt that they are currently in the palace of Emir of Anka waiting for transportation to Gusau, the state capital.
How they were released is yet to be known, and whether a ransom was paid before they were released was not made known to newsmen as at the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that the Niger State government announced the release of 38 people abducted from the Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi local government area of the state yesterday.
Meanwhile, there are indications that the bandits who attacked the Government Girls Secondary School and abducted the 307 girls had women in their ranks.
Security agencies are currently investigating the allegation based on information supplied by some of the girls who escaped from the gunmen.
