At least one person has been killed on Thursday after some policemen and tricycle riders, locally known as Keke Napep operators, clashed in Meiran, Lagos.
According to reports, one of the policemen killed a Keke Napep operator over #100 bribe.
Pandemonium was said to have bronken in the area as a result of the incident as people could be seen surrounding the coprse in a viral video posted on social media.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the clash remains hazy as well as the cause of death and the identity of the deceased.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, did not reveal the number of causality while confirming the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has dispatched adequate police patrol teams to maintain law and order there. No cause for alarm. Details soon,” he told The PUNCH.
