Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has been forced to self-isolate “after coming in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.”
Tambuwal disclosed this in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Thursday, adding that he awaits a test result to confirm his status.
According to the governor, his deputy, Alhaji Mannir Dan’Iya, will oversee all activities of the state until after the result.
Tambuwal’s tweet read: “Gov @AWTambuwal goes into isolation after coming in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. The Deputy Gov will oversee all activities of the state pending the outcome of the test result of the Governor.”
