Officers have arrested the suspected attacker after four people were injured in a knife assault in Paris on Friday near the former offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, French police said.

The man was arrested near the sprawling Place de la Bastille, police said, adding he was the only suspect in an attack that came as a trial is underway for alleged accomplices in the January 2015 attack on Charlie Hebdo that killed 12 people.

The stabbing came as a trial was underway in the capital for alleged accomplices of the authors of the January 2015 attack on the Charlie Hebdo weekly that claimed 12 lives.

The attack comes in the wake of multiple death threats made against Charlie Hebdo employees. The head of Human Resources said earlier this week she was given “10 minutes” to leave her home after police received credible death threats.
