The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee has embarked on a meeting on Tuesday, reports revealed.
This is despite the postponement of the NWC meeting earlier scheduled for today that was announced by the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party, Yemi Akinwonmi.
According to Akinwonmi, the meeting was suspended “until further notice to allow for broader consultations in the overall interest of our party.”
Akinwonmi had announced a takeover of the reins of the party following a restraining order on the National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
However, The PUNCH reports that nine members of the National Working Committee of the party under the leadership of the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Suleiman Nazif, held a meeting in defiance of the earlier announcement by Akinwonmi.
The NWC has also fixed an emergency National Executive Committee meeting of the party for Friday this week.
