Panic as explosion rocks Ibadan

Ibadan the capital of Oyo state was shaken by a massive explosion on Tuesday night at about 7:30 pm prompting widespread concern and reports of damages to properties.

The explosion, characterized by a loud sound, echoed across several areas of Ibadan and shook the foundations of some houses.

Several residents have allegedly reported severe property damages along the Bodija axis of the city.

When contacted by our correspondent, Oyo State Fire Service confirmed the explosion.

A personnel in the fire service said “The explosion is true, it’s around BodijaIt’s (but) I can’t say much about it. If you can go to Bodija. It’s around Bodija but I can’t say much about it.”

However, an X user @Theoladeledada “.If you are a Medical personnel in Ibadan & close by. Please your help & assistance is needed at Adeyi Avenue, Bodija. There are serious casualties there. Please help share.”

The nature and origin of the explosion were still unclear
