Pandemonium struck on Thursday when unknown gunmen kidnapped at least 46 people in Agunu Dutse, Agunu ward of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
A resident, who identified himself as Maurice Clement Tanko, disclosed that the kidnappers stormed the area around 12:30 am, on Thursday.
“It was around 12:30am that our volunteer vigilante noticed some unusual movement in an outskirt of the community like 200 metres away and the flash torches as their own trick of communication but no response.
“And the kidnappers operated for like 10-20 mins but noticed that the vigilante were on high alert,” he said.
Daily Trust reports that one person from the community, Abubakar Sule, was injured during the attack, but is presently receiving treatment in a medical facility.
As of the time of filing this report, State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige, has yet to respond to inquiries on the attck.
