JUST IN: Nollywood veteran Bruno Iwuoha is dead

Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood, has again been thrown into mourning as one of its veteran actors, Bruno Iwuoha, died on Saturday.

The thespian who reportedly suffered diabetes and loss of sight died on Saturday at the National Hospital in Abuja.

He was said to have been in a coma for a while.

Bruno Iwuoha’s sudden death follows just weeks after Nollywood veteran actor, Sadiq Daba also died in a similar fashion on Wednesday, March 4 at a Lagos hospital.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), which said in February that it was launching an appeal fund for him and other ailing actors, is expected to make an official statement about the death.

Iwuoha was named best supporting actor at the third Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in 2007 for his role in Sins of the Flesh.

He was best known for his roles in films Fire on the Mountain (2002), No Nonsense (2003), and Fire on the Mountain 2 (2002).
