Nigeria’s Super Eagles could book its place in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, even without kicking a ball against Benin Republic on Saturday evening.
The Super Eagles currently lead Group L with eight points, one more than second-placed Benin, ahead of the penultimate fixtures in the series.
However, before the early kick off in Port Novo, Lesotho will have to play Sierra Leone earlier at home.
The Leone Stars already have three points after four matches, while their hosts have two.
Pundits are positive that if the encounter ends in a draw, it would mean Lesotho can no longer qualify for the continental showpiece in Cameroon.
It would also mean that Sierra Leone cannot reach Nigeria’s tally of eight.
Even if that does not happen, Gernot Rohr’s men only need a point from their remaining matches to qualify.
