Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed the death of an injured patient at Reddington Hospital, Lekki Lagos. This comes after the governor, on a live broadcast on Wednesday, denied reports of death after soldiers shot live rounds at unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.
According to reports, at least seven people died in the attack last night while about 30 were left injured.
In a statement after on his official Twitter account moments after his live broadcast, Sanwo-Olu stated that the patient died of “blunt force trauma”.
He, however, said he is yet to confirm if the victim was injured during the Lekki Toll Gate attack by security operatives.
“Information reaching us now is that a life was lost at Reddington Hospital due to blunt force trauma to the head. It is an unfortunate and very sad loss. This is an isolated case. We are still investigating if he was a protester.”

The protests have spiralled out of control across the country after hoodlums hijacked the peaceful protests against police brutality.
Several establishments in Lagos, private and government-owned, have been destroyed including police stations and the Lagos State Transport System stations in various areas.
