A serving councillor in Kaduna State, Hon. David Ali Gwantu, has been abducted by suspected bandits.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday in the Southern Kaduna region.
Hon. Gwantu, who represents Gwantu Ward in the Sanga Local Government Council, was reportedly taken from his residence by the assailants.
As of the time of this report, authorities have not released an official statement on the kidnapping, and it is unclear whether contact has been made with the kidnappers.
