JUST IN: Burnley hold Arsenal to 1-1 draw
A Xhaka howler and poor finishing forced Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League game against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Arsenal, who were looking to build on last weekend’s excellent win over Leicester, went ahead in the 6th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese had received a pass from summer signing Wilian and after some silky stepovers which fooled Matt Lowton and James Tarkowski fired a low shot at the near post corner.
Chris Wood equalised for Burnley just before half time after Xhaka who was looking for David Luiz, hit the ball onto his hip and it bounced in the back of the net.
The draw leaves Arsenal at 10th on the table ahead of Leeds who are 11th but have a game in hand and play on Monday. A win for Leeds in the Monday encounter will not change Arsenal’s position on the table.
