Latest reports inform that Arsenal have failed in its bid to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez Martinez.

According to BBC Chief football writer, Phil McNulty, reports in Spain are saying Deportivo reject Arsenal’s 20m Euro offer for Lucas Perez Martinez because the London club wanted to pay in two installments.

Arsenal were hoping to beat Everton to the £17m signing.

Everton had identified the 27-year-old, who scored 17 goals in La Liga last season, to provide support for Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees were closing in on a deal before Arsenal declared a late interest in the striker known as Lucas.

It would be a disappointment for Everton manager Ronald Koeman and director of football Steve Walsh, who is a long-time admirer of the Spaniard.
