The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board has postponed its 2024 examination over the ongoing #ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest

The JUPEB registrar Ademola Adeleke, said the board’s examination has been shifted due to security concerns.

In a statement on Friday, he said the exam which was scheduled for August 5 to 16 has now been postponed to August 19 to 30.

Adeleke said the postponement will allow the board to conduct the exam simultaneously across the country.

The registrar added that a timetable reflecting the new dates will be circulated “as soon as possible”.

“We plead that these JUPEB Foundation schools located in states where the protest has not created any security challenges and which are ready to conduct the examinations as initially scheduled. Bear with us,” Adeleke said.

“This is to enable us to conduct the examinations simultaneously, in all our partner and affiliate universities.”

On August 1 and 2, Nigerians took to the streets of major cities in Nigeria to protest the rising cost of living.

However, no fewer than 14 people have lost their lives in an ensuing crackdown by security operatives.

There have also been reports of looting and vandalism of public property in some states.
