Tanzanian singer Jux, whose full name is Juma Mussa Mkambala, reached a significant milestone with the release of his music video for “God Design,” which hit two million views on May 15.

The video, which simulates the traditional wedding ceremony between Jux and his Nigerian wife, Priscilla Ojo, was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria.

Priscilla is the daughter of Nigerian celebrity Iyabo Ojo. The wedding ceremony itself took place on April 17, 2025. “God Design” is the fourth track from Jux’s highly anticipated upcoming EP.

In a statement, Jux described the video as a visual tribute to their love story, emphasizing that it is “not just a visual celebration of a love ordained by God but a heartfelt dedication to their journey as husband and wife.” The video features Nigerian singer and rapper Phyno, as well as Priscilla’s family and friends, including her mother and siblings. It was directed by Kenny and produced by Verse Network Tanzania.

In a related development, Afrobeats star, Davido, shared his thoughts on an alternate career he might have pursued if not for music.

The singer revealed that he would have chosen a path in journalism, citing his love for conversation and self-promotion as key reasons behind the decision.

Davido explained, “I’ve been doing crazy promo for my album – not easy. I don’t have to promo but I like it. I like conversing and all.” He further shared his passion for talking and marketing, noting that he enjoys promoting his work and connecting with his audience.

The singer, who has a background in business management and marketing, added, “A lot of people don’t know that aside from business management, I also studied marketing, so I like to talk. If I had a podcast, I would talk for days.”

Davido views engaging with his audience as an essential part of his artistry. “It’s part of being an artiste to me. I could talk and talk, but some people don’t like to talk. When people meet me, I like to have conversations and I’d like to know things. I like information.”

He concluded by sharing his belief that if he weren’t in music, journalism would have been his field of choice. “I’m a very informative person, and I feel like if I wasn’t fully doing music, I’d be into something like journalism in a way,” he said. “I like to let people know what I’m working on and all.”
