Renowned Nigerian gospel artist, Judith Kanayo-Opara, widely known as Judikay, has released a detailed statement addressing allegations of financial mismanagement during her professional relationship with her former record label, EeZee Conceptz.

In a detailed statement shared via her Instagram page on her Saturday, the 30-year-old artist revealed that her contract with EeZee Conceptz began in February 2019 and officially ended in February 2024.

However, she disclosed that between 2019 and 2023, she was denied access to her backend and could not receive payments directly.

According to her, all receipts were created by the label, which she trusted implicitly at the time.

In her statement, Judikay stated, “From 2019 to 2023, I was never granted access to my backend nor allowed to receive payments directly from their source. All receipts sent to me were created by the label, and I accepted them in good faith, trusting my former boss without question.”

The situation became more contentious during the closure process at the expiration of her contract.

Judikay claimed that she uncovered financial discrepancies, which prompted her to request an audit of her dealings.

She explained, “Before the customary closure meetings at the expiration of my contract, I began discovering significant financial discrepancies. These findings were later confirmed during the closure meetings.”

This request for an audit allegedly led to a breakdown in communication with her former boss, halting the closure process entirely.

Despite repeated requests for closure through legal channels, Judikay stated that the label’s lawyers argued against her right to an audit, a position she described as contradictory to their agreement.

In her statement, Judikay expressed gratitude to her family, the gospel music community, and her supporters for their encouragement during this challenging period.

She said, “I am deeply grateful for your vote of confidence, immense love, and laborious intercessions over me in these times.”

She reaffirmed her commitment to glorifying Jesus through her music and ministry, promising to remain steadfast in her calling.

Judikay concluded her address with a message of hope and resilience, reiterating her focus on her faith and ministry.
