Security Operatives manned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday have barred journalists and lawyers from the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu.

PM News reports that only lawyers involved in the trial of Kanu were permitted to enter the court premises.

Hooded officials of the Department of States Services, DSS, special police and civil defence operatives deployed around the roads leading to the court premises.

The publication also reported that many journalists were barred from going near the court premises.

Meanwhile, WuzupNigeria quoting The Nation, reported that the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, was roughed up by hoodlums in the presence of the security operatives around the court.

The publication added that the operatives hit some reporters with sticks and pushed some, threatening to break the cameras of some journalists and other people recording the situation.

Some were reportedly forced to delete the videos and photos they recorded before chasing everyone away from the vicinity of the courts expect a few journalists who refused to leave.
