Britain’s unified champion Anthony Joshua has been cleared to fight Kubrat Pulev after testing negative for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

Mandatory challenger, Pulev is set to face Joshua for their world heavyweight title fight on December 12, with the latter’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles on the line.

Sky Sports reports that AJ underwent a test on Tuesday before entering the pre-fight bubble and received confirmation on Wednesday morning that he can face Pulev at The SSE Arena in Wembley on Saturday night.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the via a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, saying: “@anthonyfjoshua and team Covid negative and ready to go!”

Should Joshua defeat Pulev who has only lost to one fight in his career out of 28 after suffering a defeat via fifth round knockout to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014, he will move closer to the much-awaited bout with Tyson Fury.

However, Pulev would be looking to put a bump on that road, if he is able to defeat Joshua as Andy Ruiz did in a seventh-round knockout last year. Joshua, however, regained his titles in a rematch in Saudi Arabia in December.
