Jigawa driver flees as police intercept car with rifles, explosives
The Nigeria Police, Kano Command, has intercepted a Mercedez Benz car laded with Improvised Explosives Devices, two Ak-47 rifles and four AK-47 magazines.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Kiyawa, in a press statement on Saturday, said, the car conveying the explosives was intercepted at Bubbugaje Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
According to Kiyawa, the now-fleeing driver of the ash-coloured car, which was coming from Jigawa State, on sighting security personnel, abandoned his car and took to his heels.
Meanwhile, the PPRO also said suspects connected to the explosion, which occurred at Sabon Gari within the week, had been arrested.
The PUNCH reported that an explosion rocked a building adjacent to the Winners Chapel Academy, Aba, Court Road, Kano, killing no fewer than nine persons and partially levelling a building opposite the nursery school
One Micheal Adejo, who, according to the police, is now late, is alleged to be dealings in illicit, toxic chemical substances and combustible materials, suspected to be used for making improvised explosives.
