Jigawa approves N172m for solar power at Dutse General Hospital

Jigawa State government has said that a sum of N173 million has been approved to provide a solar mini-grid at Dutse General Hospital.

Jigawa government made this known in a statement issued by the state Commissioner of Information, Sagir Musa, on Friday.

Musa noted that the fund was approved by the State Executive Council during its meeting on Thursday.

“The SEC has approved the award of contract for the installation of a solar mini-grid at the Dutse General Hospital at the sum of N172,754,158 only. The council decision is in line with Governor Umar Namadi’s administration’s commitment to improving the standard of General Hospitals in the state for effective healthcare delivery,” the Commissioner said.

Musa further explained that the council approved N324.8 million to construct, rehabilitate, and upgrade 33 small towns’ water supply schemes in 14 constituencies of Jigawa State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Commissioner also stated that the council4 had approved a contract to establish a fumigation chamber at the Maigatari Export Processing Zone in the Maigatari Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the planned fumigation chamber aimed to boost hibiscus production, adding that the establishment of the chamber was also to improve the quality of hibiscus produced in the state and meet the Nigeria Export Promotion Council requirements for exportation.
